This battery has seen better days. A new 9-cell battery runs for 4 hours. This one has 66% wear and gives up to 1hr 30min actual working time on "Balanced" power settings.

Messages now appear advising purchase of a new battery, so I have and this one is up for sale. £10 including delivery.

Just to help you mate, your battery is probably fine. Windows 7 has a glitch where it gives out the wrong values.

This trick worked for me

Drain all the power from the battery (you can wait to Windows to auto-hibernate, or better, enter the Bios and left it there until switch off).
Make sure that nothing happens when you try to reboot the computer (battery completely drained).
Remove the battery and reinsert it again.
Fully charge the battery to 100%
Reboot
